| Job Description | • L3 and L2 Features: QoS, TCAM management, Lawful Intercept, Netflow, ACL, Video Monitoring, ABF, Ethernet, PoS etc. • Media: Sonet/ATM/GigE/Channelized PLIMs • Platform Infrastructure: Fabric/Shelf Management, Environment Monitor, Ethernet Controller, etc, support both x86 and PowerPC Route Processor. • IP Routing & Forwarding: IPv4, IPv6, L2VPN, L3VPN, VPLS, Routing Protocols, MPLS signalling, RSVP-TE, FRR etc. • Team: Part of the Core Routing Business Unit (CRBU). It's a new team in Bangalore being formed from scratch with positions open in development, test and management in all the technology areas of the platform |
| Desired Profile | Technical Skills - Good Understanding in MPLS Protocols/Technology - L2-L3 Apps (L2 protocols such as HDLC, PPP, ARP, HSRP/VRRP, CDP) – Experience in Networking technologies, protocols and/or infrastructure (please see some details below) – testing and debugging background – Ability to debug complicated system-level issues. – Exposure to product life cycle and tools – Customer experience: Reproduction and debugging of customer issues, handling of field queries § Soft-skills – Excellent verbal/written communication skills, Teamwork and interpersonal skills – Interact with various functions and teams of the product, including marketing, QA, H/W, A/C teams etc. Details on Technical requirements § Networking Technologies: – IPv4/v6, MPLS, BGP, OSPF, IS-IS, PIM – MPLS based L3 VPN and QoS(TE) – ATM, Frame Relay, HDLC, SONET, SDH, POS, IPoDWDM - L2-L3 Apps (L2 protocols such as HDLC, PPP, ARP, HSRP/VRRP, CDP) – L2 VPN: (AToM, VPLS, VPWS) and QoS(TE) – Ethernet: GE, 802.1q VLANs, 802.1ad (QinQ) – ACL, QoS § Switch/Router Platform Infrastructure: – L2/L3 Forwarding Infrastructure * Developing test plans, test cases in system test scenario to carry out testing on Cisco products: - Scalability, functionality and Perf testing - Negative tests and corner cases - Map customer scenarios to test cases - Stress tests, longevity tests - Testing feature combos * Develop topology based on test requirements and setting up the test bed * Manual and automated testing, Quick sanity tests * Understand Cisco release process, product life cycle and fit the system testing within the release timelines * Follow test processes such as bug logging, bug repro, result archival * Ability to work as a very good team member and share resources, work content to meet common team goals * Very good customer interaction skills * Ability to multi-task, and work under project pressure. Typically requires BS/MS combined with 5-10+ years of related experience. |
