| Job Description | The Core Routing Business Unit (CRBU) in the Service Provider Routing Technology Group is responsible for Cisco’s product portfolio for Service Provider Core Business. Carrier Routing System (CRS-1) is the Flag-Ship product, the biggest router that’s available in the industry today supporting 92 Terabits, enjoys Guinness Record, and is developed and supported by the CRBU. The CRS-1 is a breakthrough, Next-Generation IP product in Service Provider Market space, brings in a fundamental shift in the next-generation networks architected and fueled by Cisco’s IP-NGN framework. The CRS-1 has set a new Industry Standard for Reliability, Continuous System Operation & live upgradable functionality (ISSU), IP service flexibility, Scalability and Unprecedented Capacity that will enable Service Providers to achieve Profitability while delivering a new suite of exciting, Multimedia services to Business and Residential Customers. Powered by IOS-XR, a Cisco architected and designed Next-Generation Operating System, CRS-1 in its Single-Chassis and Multi-Chassis form takes advantage of cool Innovations in this multi-processor, multi-threaded architecture of IOS-XR. We are starting a new team from scratch and we have some very exciting opportunities open in the CRBU-India. We are looking for Senior Architects, Software Technical Leads, Test Technical Leads, Software Developers, Testers, Managers across Development & Test, and Program Management. | Desired Profile | Responsible for managing a project team of engineers involved in development and system testing of CRS-1 Platform with features targeted for the unique needs of large core and high speed edge routers. Good team player with Excellent verbal/written communication skills is a must. Typically requires MS(CS/EE) or BE(CS/EE) combined with 10+ years of related experience with 3+ yrs of Software Project Management experience Responsibilities include: Plan feature/system tests schedules and resource needs and deliver them with stretch schedules Motivate and plan development of the team members, give timely feedback Technically guide engineers during the test plan design/development and execution Manage highly time critical customer escalations – involves guiding the team in troubleshooting interacting with customers and with regular updates to the Management and Customers Interface cross-functionally and geographically with engineering teams across business units, by demonstrating unambiguous interaction.
