As a result of the Yahoo! and Microsoft Search Alliance, we are creating the ad Center team to go win in the online advertising space as part of the newly formed India Development Center in Bangalore. This team will be responsible for building systems that include massive database infrastructure, relevance algorithms, ad delivery engines, data mining systems, windows clients, web user interfaces etc. The problem space encompasses some of the biggest and most comprehensive problems in Computer Science (Machine Learning, Data Mining, BI, Large Scale Distributed Computing, Service Deployment and Management); Mathematics (Optimizations, Probability Theory); Economics & Business (Auction Theory, Behavioral Targeting). In addition to the technological demands, this is a unique challenge in terms of bridging cultures, organizational design, business acumen and vision setting as we look to refine and deliver on a multi-year vision and mission. The ad Center team in IDC is hiring strong, self-motivated and results driven developers to create a system that will offer an unparalleled value proposition to both search users and advertisers. If the answer is yes, then the AdCenter R&D team at the Microsoft India Development Center (IDC), Bangalore is for you. AdCenter is Microsoft’s online advertising platform. The IDC AdCenter team is responsible for various aspects of the product including its Paid Search and Contextual ad offerings. In particular we are driving technology that helps serve the most relevant ads within content pages that in turn provide high return on investment for advertisers and yield for publishers. We are looking for a leader with demonstrated success in shipping machine learning based technologies along with 6+ years of relevant academic and / or research experience. In this position, you will innovate, design, analyze, evaluate, architect, implement and tune complex algorithms and ML models operating on large sets of data in collaboration with top scientists and engineers across Microsoft’s global R&D team. In addition to hands on work, you will also be responsible for growing the ML expertise within IDC. Knowledge and experience in one or more of the following areas is required - machine learning, statistical analysis of data, information retrieval, natural language processing, large scale data processing and data mining. Having worked in a web search related company is a plus. Candidates must demonstrate ability to select appropriate technique amongst of various statistical / mathematical techniques to solve the online auction ad selection, ranking and relevance problems. Ph.D or Masters with research in Machine Learning, Statistics, Economics, Operations Research or related field are preferred. |
