| Job Description | ASA Appliance Engineering team seeks a Software Development Engineer to define, design and build software for Cisco's industry leading ASA Security products that generate significant revenue. The ideal candidate demonstrates a system-level focus while understanding the impact of every component. Participate (in a senior/ lead role) on a project team of engineers involved in development of software for Cisco products. Requires use of a strong background in SW design, documentation and implementation, on projects that may include any of the following list of responsibilities: Lead project team on the build of a major SW release, including building the software, coordinating with other departments, and participating in scheduling (from conception to testing). Mentors junior team members. Demonstrate ability to successfully influence win-win cross-functional dynamics. Resolves conflicts by fostering team communications. Provides technical guidance to small teams. Typically requires MSEE/CS combined with 5-9 years of related experience, or BSEE/CS combined with 8-12+ yrs related experience. Strong C programming, networking and security skills a must. Experience in Security, specifically Firewall technology highly desirable. Expertise in atleast one of the following areas is required: Inspection Engines, VoIP - SIP, H.323, QoS, Routing, Multicast, Access-list, NAT, PPPoE, ESMTP, DNS, HTTP, IM, P2P etc. |
