| Job Description | This job requires a Sybase IQ DBA to perform the following
Installation and Configuration of Sybase Servers on given platform.
- Creation and initialization of database devices, both raw and file system partitions for Sybase. Backup & restore
- Installation, Maintaining Records, Backups, Recovery of Databases, Monitoring Resources, Users/Login Control & perform Tuning for best performance.
- Monitoring server & DB usage.
- Study existing Sybase IQ environment.
- Analyze of the database design for proper use of data types, indexes, constraints etc.
- Analyze existing procedures and tune those.
- Provide recommendations for better performance, Tuning servers/database for better performance
- Handling user requests, day-to-day DBA admin activities
- Creating logins and providing required permission to the users
- Creating/Altering development/staging/production databases

Should have:
- Should have passed B.E./MCA/M.Tech/other professional degree with minimum of 4+ yrs to 12 experience.
- Should have proven experience as SybaseIQ/Sybase DBA in large scale SW systems.
- Strong knowledge in SybaseIQ database
- Proficient in database objects tuning for optimal performance.
- SybaseIQ Certified administrator is preferred.
- Good knowledge in Replication Server installation, maintenance.
- SQL Tuning/performance tuning
- Prior experience in database design is preferable.
